In case of emergency, call 911.
When a situation does not require 911, hotline workers can provide confidential help, information, and referrals for you or someone you know any time of day or night, including weekends and holidays. We can help you create a plan for a safe escape. Calling this hotline does not obligate you to do anything, including entering shelter or calling the police. The Hotline can also connect you to other local services and community resources.

SAIL is a program provided in cooperation with the Alabama Department of Human Resources and the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The goal of the SAIL Project is to provide safety and self-sufficiency for the victims of domestic violence and their children.
The SAIL Project provides for a domestic violence Advocate at each office of DHR, either on site, or by phone. The SAIL Specialist works with the staff of DHR to provide services that will help to secure the safety of their clients who live in family violence.
SAIL assists participants in making a personal safety plan to maximize the safety of the victim and children. The participant is free to make their own choices while the specialist offers guidance and helps look at all the possible solutions when solving a problem. SAIL can assist with housing needs, purchase of vital records, and security.
By becoming a SAIL participant, clients are open to receiving all the services Turning Point provides. SAIL participants do not have to go into shelter as part of the program.

If you are fleeing domestic violence or sexual assault and have nowhere to go, you may be eligible for emergency shelter. Emergency shelter requires a commitment to self-sufficiency and regular case management.
If you have used our services (such as counseling, court advocacy, or shelter) within the past year, or are willing to start receiving other services, you may be eligible for financial housing assistance. Financial housing assistance typically requires the victim to have consistent income. Qualified victims may receive housing assistance in the form of an initial deposit, a month of rent, hotel stay, or more when that is required for victims’ safety. To request housing assistance, call our number. Please be prepared to explain how such assistance is necessary due to domestic violence or sexual assault.
